Romy is currently working as a research assistant at the University of Debrecen after graduating from her undergraduate degree in Biology with Professional Placement from the University of Bath, UK. She is currently focusing on providing a first look at the breeding biology of the Cream-coloured Courser (Cursorius cursor), a semi-desert wader in the Cape Verde islands, and hopes to continue collecting data on this species for collaborations with the ÉLVONAL project.
Romy’s main interests lie with ornithology, behavioural ecology and comparative methods, with a passion for conservation. Romy next plans to work alongside Vojtěch Kubelka to aid comparative research investigating the nest predation patterns among shorebirds, as a follow up from the recent 2018 Science article.
