Esmat is a Wildlife Conservation Officer at Dubai Municipality (UAE) with a major interest in ornithology. He is Carrying intensive fieldwork in breeding ecology of shorebirds in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, Dubai. He is currently an apart-time Ph.D. student at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague, studying the breeding success of shorebirds in the Arabian desert with the main focus on Red-wattled Lapwing. He is also active in avifauna satellite tracking with 10 years of experience in Africa and the Middle East. He did his master’s in waterbirds ecology in Sudan,  then joint Wildlife Research Center for a period from 2007 to 2013 before traveling to  Dubai
